Well i have just checked my last post and it was October – OMG!!!!! How time flies, I have had a nightmare couple of months ……. my husband was in hospital, the kids have been ill (nothing serious just normal kids stuff) work has been hectic, a close family friend sadly passed away, i crashed my car and we had a leak and our kitchen flooded – I now have a stinking cold – if i was a man it would be flu!!!
and it’s four days to christmas – In the New Year i will endeavor to spend more time filling my blog with useful information for readers to use. I would just like to wish my mentor Dean Holland and all the SWM students and anyone reading this a very happy christmas and best wishes for 2010. I doubt i will be posting again untill the New Year as i have some time off work and after the last few months i really would just like to spend the next few weeks spoiling my kids with presents and time. They are in bed now though so i’m off for a large glass of Vino

Believe & Achieve
Oct 13
‘Believe & Achieve’
This is the phrase that my mentor Dean Holland uses, Dean also told me to set goals and stick to them – If you have read my blog posts recently you will know that I have been a little disheartened at not being able to commit as much time to the Starting with Marketing programme as I would have liked to and as a result I am a little behind, one reason is because I have been very busy and the other, If I’m honest is I haven’t been setting my goals and sticking to them
Each person has goals, regardless of what they are, which is why they strive to reach them. If you truly want to become successful, you need to have the right attitude and mindset to achieve.
Visualization
The goal starts from within. You need to have desire for the things that you want to achieve. This way, you will constantly store the thoughts and ideas in your mind that will lead to success. The first step is to create your goals. You may want to write a list of the items.
Visualize yourself being successful in your objectives. The mind is a very powerful tool and is more capable of aiding you in being successful than you realize, make a picture board of the items you visualize and put it somewhere where you will see it throughout the day.
Your List
Next, you need to create a list to achieve your goals. It is vital that you create the action steps that will ultimately lead to your main goal. For example, if your goal is to get rich, you have to set steps such as saving money, investing, working extra hours, building connections, starting with marketing!! etc. Set deadlines – don’t worry if these aren’t always met but it helps to have a timeline to work towards. Don’t worry if you sometimes fall off track you can always get back on again.
Attitude
You need to have the right attitude that will help you stick to your goals. You need consistency, patience and discipline. Be consistent with the work you put in to achieve the results you desire. Be patient to wait for the right opportunity and deal with the setbacks. Discipline yourself to commit to your goals and achieve your objectives.
Ok so I’m off to practice what I preach and refresh my goals list and stick to it!!!!
Getting there………
Sep 29
Well it has been ages since my last post, i think i had got caught up with other stuff (important stuff – work, kids etc) and lost a little momentum, anyway i was two modules behind when i wrote my last post, i completed one module and was halfway through the next when Dean delivered another one!!!! He is far too efficient
so i am still a little behind but i am getting there.
I did say i hoped to have something interesting and useful for you and i have – but it is not my work (i wish it was!) The blog set up guide was written by my mentor Dean Holland and he is letting me give it away how cool is that! It is packed full of info – easy to understand and implement info. So enter your email address on this page and i’ll send it to you straightaway.
Two major events have happened with my kids this week, my son rode his bike without his stableisers (i wasn’t there i was working away in London
but my husband recorded him for me) and my daughter who is 16 months learnt to say the word i have been dreading ……. No
so right now in my house everything is no, no, no, no
I’m working on her next word being blog……… got to start them young
Panic!!!!!
Sep 5
Well i’m having a little panic – i am soooooo behind with The Starting With Marketing programme, It was my son’s 4th birthday last weekend and we had relatives staying for the week, then my baby (the 4 year old) started school this week (he was fine – i was distraught!) so i have been a tadge distracted and now my ever effecient mentor has just delieverd the latest module of Starting With Marketing, which means i have two modules to catch up on and a couple of recorded webinar’s to listen to OMG!!! I am going to be very, very busy this week. I shall hopefully have something relatively interesting and useful to pass on by the end of this week – well that’s the aim, fingers crossed
It’s Not Rocket Science???
Aug 22
Hello,
I had an absoloute nightmare last night (not a bad dream it really happened
) i was trying to add a link/banner to my blog for pro host management my hosting people – i thought ‘it can’t be that difficult it’s not rocket science’ – i was wrong! i worked out that i had to go into my theme and edit and choose an area of my blog to insert and paste the link………. simple?
Well here’s the rocket science bit i was then presented with lots of pages of this;
.gfdic >< ;?//div?//<.> script,.<> well something like that anyway lol
So i made many attempts to insert my link where i thought it should be – only for it to appear in the silliest of places then at 01:30 am when i had lost everything down the right hand side of my blog, accidently deleted my theme and still didn’t have a link displayed i gave up and went to bed feeling a little disheartened.
Anyway i sat down tonight and reinstalled my theme and my blogroll etc, then i googled adding links to my blog and SEO Dave saved the day. As you can see i have now added my link and google ads too. I am in the middle of writing a mini guide of my journey so far which i will make available when finished. I feelng much more positive than i did last night but as Dean said fail forwards.
Hi all,
After watching the Training videos for Traffic Tanks, Module 3 of Dean Holland’s Starting With Marketing Academy I sat down at my laptop to join Twitter – I accidentally typed in twitter.co.uk instead of twitter.com – I reached the website twitter.co.uk where apparently 3,000 people per day make the same mistake as me and reach that site. So the owner of twitter.co.uk has decided to make use of this accidental traffic – for a small fee anything from £2.00 upwards your website can be advertised on twitter.co.uk for anything from 1 day to 1 week and the money you pay goes to a charity which you can choose from a list down the right hand side of the page. I contacted the owner and asked if he would promote blogs and he has got back to me and said he will set up a section on the website for blogs. Visit www.twitter.co.uk for more information. Let me know if you decide to participate and also if you get any results

My Fellow Students
Aug 19
Hi all,
If you read my post the other day you will know that i have been struggling to display links, anyway thanks to Craig that problem is now resolved and as you can see i have now displayed a huge list of links – These are the links to the other members of Dean Hollands Starting with Marketing Newbie Programme – they are a great group of people and i feel very much part of a team with a common goal. Please do use the links in my blogroll to visit a few of my fellow students.

I’m on Google page 1!!!!
Aug 19
Hi all,
I had to tell you this, Last week Dean Holland my mentor delivered Traffic Tanks our third training module and i followed the module and took action where i needed to and today I have just googled my name (as you do)and i have 2 results on page 1 out of 123,000 results – 1 result is my blog and the other is my Twitter, how cool is that. Even more cool considering i haven’t spent 1 single penny on advertising/marketing- that’s right not one single penny/cent/dime!! – Dean Holland you are the man!!!
Time……
Aug 17
Hi there,
my post tonight is about time – time is precious, we never have enough of it i intended to sit down and update my posts earlier this evening but my little boy was watching Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and he asked me to sit with him and i nearly said Mummy’s busy but i stopped myself because my children are the main reason i am doing Starting With Marketing and my time with them is precious – so anyway once they went to bed tonight and i finished cleaning, laundry etc i sat down and logged into my blog and found that one of my fellow Starting with Marketing students had given up his precious time and logged into my blog (i had given him my log on details) and sorted out an issue i have been having with displaying my blogroll - an issue that i have spent hours trying to sort out and other members of SWM have tried to assist me with , I have never met this person and never spoken to him apart from via our Starting With Marketing Members Forum and yet he gave up his time to help me a complete stranger – how cool is that! so Craig from www.craigsways.com thank you again you are an absoloute star
